Olivia
Thoroughbred Mare
DOB 2/23/03
Olivia is a smart girl looking for a partner that wants to give her a job. Olivia was last adopted and returned due to an ill fitting saddle that caused her back to become sore. She will need some patience as she regains trust that her saddle will not hurt her back. Once she realizes this, she will do anything for you. She does require an intermediate rider with a trainer.

SPONSORED in part by ARLENE
Junior’s story:
Junior was surrendered to the rescue in 2012. He is a 23-year-old Arabian/Saddlebred gelding. He was a great riding horse and was adopted in Late 2013. Once he was in his new home, he became an escape artist and would often find his way outside of the pasture. On the night of July 13, 2014, he escaped and was hit by a car and injured. The adopter was afraid she would not be able to keep him in while he recovered, so she boarded him at SpeakeEasy Stables. Also, this way we could keep a close eye on his progress.
Junior had to be on stall rest for months. He was progressing nicely. One day his adopter decided to take him out of the stall to graze. By doing so, he undid all the healing that had taken place and he would never be healed enough to ride. The adopter returned him to the rescue, and he has been here ever since. Junior is now a sanctuary horse and will spend the rest of his life in the rescue, unless a suitable companion home can be found. A companion horse may never be ridden. If you are interested in sponsoring or adopting Junior, please let us know.
